I have been involved with all things drawing and painting nearly all of my life. As a young boy I sketched the characters that were popular in the cartoons, on television and at the movies at the time, and I looked forward to the arrival of the latest comics at the local newsagent, along with the new additions of art instruction books at the local library.
This was all helpful in building a solid foundation in the requisite skills that an artist needs.
I have had a keen interest in drawing and painting since early childhood and I am constantly building upon a knowledge of all aspects of representational art.
I recently completed my final year of studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts double degree from Curtin University, majoring in Fine Art and Visual Culture.
I also took elective study units in digital design to complement my studio practice, thus enabling me to promote my work online.
Barb Doquille - Teesdale, "I am currently collaborating with The Constant Painter for a commissioned artwork, and highly commend his ability to capture the inner being, the soul of an animal or person, in his portraits."
Jack Hayworth - Tooan, "If it's an honest representation in a landscape that you are seeking, then The Constant Painter is the one for the job. The oil sketch he did for me of Mount Arapiles is outstanding, capturing the sublime morning light superbly."
Commissions are accepted in acrylic, charcoal, graphite and/or oil media, applied to a suitable support of your choice, such as stretched cotton duck canvas, belgian linen, masonite board et cetera.
Once a commission is accepted, work generally begins with a number of live sittings and photographic references to produce a series of working sketches/studies of the subject.
